I cannot believe it has already been 5 months since my last posting...however, I have been very busy, not only with my art, but with the gallery moving to the Main Street location, where we are very happy in our new digs...
I helped paint dots on a very large piece with friends and artists Stephanie Hilvitz and Katy Diver for our friend Julie Clements who is opening a show of her very large botanical paintings at the Dairy Center for the Arts in Boulder this friday July 19th at 4 p.m.
I created and donated this piece called "Joie De Vivre" for the Naropa Institutes annual fund raiser. the yearly challenge involves taking a box of matches, and creating a miniature piece of art from the contents. here the box became a shrine, with the matches becoming the small chair, which holds the tiny nest. I went to the show where there were over 200 entries by local artists. way too fun!

last year I creating this piece for the Longmont Downtown Development Authority, using mixed media and my brass and copper etchings, tiny paintings and a photo of my mother and my sister, taken in Korea over 53 years ago on my sisters first birthday. It was a like a mosaic of tiny paintings, which lead to the idea to have 100 different artists paint a little piece, (this piece is called "Ancestors")
I am having artists submit tiny 3 x 3 paintings for a 100 piece collage that will be auctioned off, and the funds donated to "Veterans helping Veterans". I already have over 20 paintings, but I am going for 100...
next up....more and more jewelry, as I create a series of small silver alter pendants for my next gallery show, "Sacred Spaces V". I cannot believe it has been 6 years since my first Sacred Space Show in Mexico. It was magical.
